Our Centre

Kagyu Samye Dzong Randburg forms part of Kagyu Africa Tibetan Buddhist Centers. There are 5 other centers in South Africa and many other centers world wide and throughout Europe.

Centres in South Africa include: Kensington, Pretoria, Tara Rokpa Centre Groot Marico (our retreat Centre), Cape Town Samye Dzong, Zimbabwe.

The centers are established as part of a charitable non-profit religious trust, a branch of Rokpa International. Activities are carried out under the guidance of Dr Akong Tulku Rinpoche whose representative in Africa is Professor Rob Nairn. Programmes on offer throughout the year include regular weekly meditation and courses on aspects of Buddhism including compassion, therapy, dreams and relieving stress – and many other aspects of living happier, more peaceful lives. The centers are open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
